Philosophy

Capital with
conviction.

Surya Private Equity OÜ co-invests alongside founders, taking a merchant banking role that goes beyond capital — we bring strategic direction, cross-border networks, and hands-on operating expertise to every company we back.

We take large private equity stakes in technology companies generating revenues between $1M and $1B USD, operating across communications and financial technology software. We are principals, not passive observers — deploying our own balance sheet with the speed and conviction that only principal capital affords.

☀
The name

Surya derives from the Hindu god of the sun, Lord Surya — the sovereign of light who spreads his rays across the universe, illuminating all that lies in darkness. We carry that spirit into every investment: the conviction that capital, when deployed with purpose and reach, can illuminate opportunity across borders, industries, and generations.

I
Merchant banking model
We co-invest with founders as active merchant banking partners — structuring deals, opening markets, and building alongside the teams we back from day one.
II
Large PE stakes · $1M–$1B revenue
We target technology companies with meaningful revenues — $1M to $1B USD — and take significant equity positions that align our incentives fully with long-term value creation.
III
Cross-border by design
Five countries. Multiple teams. One investment thesis. Our global footprint across Canada, Estonia, Switzerland, Italy, and India is a deliberate structural advantage.
2025
A landmark year
Surya PE realised two successful multi-million dollar exits in 2025 — validating our investment thesis in communications and fintech software and establishing a track record of returns from early stage conviction.
Exit milestone
Two portfolio companies achieved multi-million dollar exits in 2025, marking significant realised value for the firm and its co-investment partners.

Investment Focus

Two verticals.
One thesis.

We concentrate capital into software and AI companies operating at the frontier of communications technology and financial infrastructure — the two domains reshaping how the world connects and transacts.

Vertical I

Communications Technology

We back software and AI platforms redefining how businesses and people communicate — from next-generation messaging infrastructure and VoIP intelligence to AI-driven customer engagement and unified communications platforms.

Our portfolio companies span telecom software, IP licensing, media technology, and AI-augmented communication layers — with development teams in Canada, India, Estonia, and Italy.

Vertical II

Financial Technology

We invest in fintech infrastructure companies building the payment rails, digital finance platforms, and AI-driven analytics systems that underpin modern financial services — with a focus on underserved markets and cross-border applications.

Our fintech portfolio includes digital payment platforms, decentralised ledger applications, structured finance instruments, and AI analytics infrastructure — with teams in Switzerland, Estonia, Canada, and India.

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence is not a sector — it is the foundation of every investment we make. We back AI-native companies building in communications and fintech, and we expand our own AI data centre and analytics infrastructure globally.
